Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions, together with our online booking form, form the entire agreement between you and
SBS Private Hire Limited.
By placing a booking and using our services, you agree to the terms below.
These terms apply to all brands operated by SBS Private Hire Limited, including
Great Dunmow Taxis, First Light Taxis, Fly Stansted Taxis, and Jim’s Travel.
1. Bookings & Confirmation
- • Bookings can be made online, by phone, or by email. You’ll receive a confirmation once accepted into our system.
- • We recommend booking at least 3 hours in advance for same-day travel to guarantee availability.
- • For urgent or short-notice bookings, please call our office to confirm vehicle availability.
- • It’s your responsibility to provide accurate pickup details, flight numbers, and contact information.
2. Pricing & Extras
- • All online prices are fixed and include standard tolls and taxes.
- • Prices are based on the journey details entered at the time of booking. Any route changes, detours, or unscheduled stops may incur additional charges.
- • Waiting time is charged at £20 per hour (pro-rata) beyond the inclusive allowance detailed below.
- • For airport pickups, parking fees are included in our fixed prices unless extended waiting applies.
3. Airport Pick-ups & Waiting Time
- • We track flights in real-time to ensure your driver meets you when your plane lands.
- • All airport collections include up to 60 minutes of free waiting time from the time your flight actually lands.
- • After 60 minutes, additional waiting is charged at £20 per hour (pro-rata).
- • Meet & Greet is optional and charged extra — if not selected, pickup is at the Express Set-Down area near the terminal (Stansted).
- • Drivers will wait up to 90 minutes without passenger contact; after that, the journey may be marked as a no-show and non-refundable.
4. Vehicle Selection
Please ensure you choose a suitable vehicle for your group size and luggage.
If luggage exceeds the booked capacity, we may not be able to accommodate it, and additional charges may apply.
5. Cancellations & Refunds
- • You can cancel with at least 12 hours’ notice for a full refund.
- • Cancellations within 12 hours of pickup may be charged partially or in full, depending on whether a driver has been dispatched.
- • “No-shows” (when passengers don’t appear at pickup) are non-refundable.
- • Refunds are processed within 3–5 working days back to the original payment method.
- • To cancel, please contact Dunmow Minicab Company as soon as possible by email or phone.
6. Delays & Liability
We do our best to get you to your destination on time — but traffic, weather, or incidents may cause delays outside our control.
SBS Private Hire Limited is not liable for missed flights, trains, or appointments due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If a driver is delayed, we’ll update you and, where possible, provide an alternative vehicle.
7. Behaviour & Conduct
- • Passengers are expected to treat drivers and vehicles with respect.
- • Cleaning or damage charges may apply if a vehicle is soiled by passengers (minimum £50).
- • We reserve the right to refuse travel to anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or whose behaviour poses a risk.
- • In cases of aggression or abuse, the journey may be terminated immediately with no refund.
8. Sub-Contracted Work
To maintain service levels, we may use trusted partner operators or licensed subcontractors.
All third-party vehicles and drivers are fully insured and licensed under relevant local authorities.
9. Luggage & Property
Your belongings are carried at your own risk.
Please ensure luggage is loaded and unloaded safely.
SBS Private Hire Limited or its partners are not responsible for loss or damage to property left in vehicles.
10. Children & Car Seats
Each child counts as one passenger.
If a child seat is required, please request this when booking — we’ll do our best to provide one subject to availability.
You’re welcome to bring your own seat, but installation is your responsibility.
11. Mechanical Issues & Emergencies
In the unlikely event of a breakdown or vehicle issue, we’ll arrange an alternative car as quickly as possible.
In extreme situations such as national emergencies, adverse weather, or major incidents,
services may be cancelled or delayed, with refunds issued where appropriate.
12. Unofficial Bookings
It’s illegal to make a private booking directly with a driver.
All bookings must go through Dunmow Minicab Company to be insured and recorded.
We can’t accept responsibility for journeys not booked through our office or platform.
13. Complaints
We want every journey to go smoothly. If something’s not right, please email or call us with your booking reference
and as much detail as possible.
We take all feedback seriously and aim to respond promptly.
14. Privacy & Calls
Calls may be recorded for training and quality purposes.
All data is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
